Muhoroni Football Club (FC) has lost yet another legal battle and therefore risk further relegation from National Super League (NSL) where they were condemned to following their relegation from the Kenya Premier League (KPL).
Justice David Majanja on Thursday said that the teams request to have the FKF issued with stay orders could not be issued as the NSL matches begun in February and if granted will inconvenience the football body and other teams.
The team therefore risks to be downgraded to even another lower level as they have already failed to play three matches in the leagues which kicked off in February.
The Club’s Chairperson Moses Adagala informed the court that they could not honor the matches given to them since they were also pursuing another legal battle in the court of Appeal contesting against a High Court decision that saw them get relegated from the KPL to the NSL early this year.
“If we decide to play in the NSL, we will be breaching FIFA regulations that state that a team can not play in two leagues in the same year,” stated Adagala.
Justice Majanja nonetheless ordered that the Club clears its case in the higher court as their journey back to the high court was an abuse to court procedures.
This decision puts the lives of the young players, orphans and widows who depend on the team in a state of limbo as the future of the club remains bleak as key sponsors already abandoned them.
