On Monday, Ndemo Nyagarama, 44, succumbed to acute meningitis that reportedly resulted to cardiac arrest.

And a family source says doctors in US have recommend for a lengthy medical care for the governor thus delaying his son's burial.

"He had recovered well but doctors have advised against travelling back home. They have subjected him to treatment yet again.

"This means that he has to stay a little bit longer than expected in the US but ultimately, we expect him before end month," said the source.

Also back at home, the county government is embroiled in a crisis over payment of workers and since Wednesday, a number of departments have downed their tools.

Last month, Nyagarama handed over to his deputy Amos Nyaribo before jetting out of the country for treatment.
