Machakos county women representative Dr Susan Musyoka has urged women to rise up to vie for leadership positions in order to increase the number of women leaders in Kenya.
Musyoka spoke this at a public meeting in Machakos where she was encouraging every citizen who has attained the age of 18 years and above to get National identification Cards so as to be able to get the voting card, so as to participate in elections.
"If we want good leaders as Kenyan citizens, we should take our responsibility of voting for the leaders we believe will serve us well, and that's starts with getting a national ID, followed by registering as a voter and then participating in the voting activity when election time comes," advised the Women representative.
Susan also urged the people not to let ego-centric politicians disunite them as a nation, but rather stay united as Kenyans despite ethnic differences, and kick out of office leaders of ethnic politics come 2017.
She also told the Kamba community not to feel inferior because it is represented by powerful leaders in the current and even in the past governments and also to have hope in the IEBC reforms because so far things are not so bad concerning IEBC.
