Property of unknown value was razed by a Saturday morning fire in Mlolongo town.
Mvumilivu Hotel, which is located few metres from the Mlolongo Police Station, was consumed by flames at around 3am yesterday after its operators had closed it.
Addressing the press at the scene, Jackline John, the hotel owner said she was called by the neighbours few minutes after the building that hosts its business caught fire.
Jackline said she lost property whose value was not yet established in the inferno which raized down the larger part of the building where she operated from.
She said that besides her hotel being razed by the flames, some of her neighbours were also affected since their businesses and property were burnt down.
The trader said the neighbouring families who live on the other part of the same building were also affected after the inferno extended to their houses of residence.
According to Jackline, several employees of the hotel and businessmen have been left jobless with no sources of livelihood following the incident.
Mavoko sub-county’s head of fire brigade department, John Kamatu, told the press that they managed to contain the inferno after he was called by the Mlolongo police officers immediately it happened, adding that that was the reason the entire building was not destroyed.
This incident happens only two days after three churches, an academy and 20 rental houses were razed by fire in the same town.
