When 13 people died in an accident at Sachangwan on December 12, the bodies were taken to the mortuary and placed on the floor.

Nakuru county deputy governor Erick Korir said the mortuary has been recently overwhelmed.

He said there will need to expand the facility and improve the infrastructures.

"The morgue has been in the past few days has accommodated several bodies. Since its capacity is small, the county government will engage the management to expand it," he said.

Kirir noted that more staff will be employed at the facility to improve on service delivery.

"The state of the facility may be bad due to the less workforce. More employees will be deployed to ensure smooth delivery of the services," he added.

He asked members of the public to be patient as the issue is being addressed by relevant authorities.
