Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria wants the police to arrest Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar immediately, claiming that he is a sympathiser of terrorists.
Speaking over the weekend in Wanugu village of Ndarugu area in Gatundu South during the funeral of Angela Nyokabi, a victim of last week's Garissa attack, Kuria alleged that Omar is among the two senators and three current MPs suspected to be among the sympathisers of extremists.
"From the national assembly to the senate, we have to zero in on supporters of terrorism starting with Hassan Omar, an ardent supporter of the vice. Let us call spade a spade," said Kuria.
The MP, who is still facing hate speech charges in court, said that people cannot be allowed to continue dying in the name of religion.
Kuria also bashed the Opposition, Cord, saying that their call for withdrawal of Kenyan troops in Somalia is hypocritical.
“They are telling us to bring KDF home and they are the ones who signed when they were going to Somalia but now because they are not in government they want to be heard to sound cool,” said Kuria.
Nyokabi was laid to rest in a sorrowful ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners.
