Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Wednesday took Jubilee campaigns to Nyamira County where he called on the locals to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid during the forthcoming polls.
Speaking in a series of meetings in the county, the lawmaker lashed out at the Opposition coalition NASA leaders, claiming that they had no chance of beating President Kenyatta, arguing that Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi had lost the presidency seven times combined.
"Raila has tried three time, Kalonzo twice and Mudavadi twice. How do you expect people who have tried to be President seven times to win this elections even if they have come together?” he posed.
However, Kuria's speech was momentarily cut short, after youths allied to NASA heckled him as they chanted NASA slogans.
The region is largely viewed as an Opposition stronghold, having overwhelmingly backed Mr Odinga's presidential bid in the past two consecutive elections.
