Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has sent out a message on Mashujaa Day.In his message, Kuria has called for new conversations after the October 26 election. Here is his full statement he posted on Facebook, Friday.

"This Mashujaa Day as we reflect on our founding fathers I honour my predecessor, the first ever MP for Gatundu, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Today is also an opportunity for us to reflect as a nation.

In another 140 hours, polls will open in Kenyans repeat Presidential election. That must happen. It is what Justices Maraga, Mwilu, Wanjala and Lenaola ordered 40 Million Kenyans to do and the 40 Million Kenyans obliged. But today we owe something else to our founding fathers.

After Thursday we need to open a new conversation. We need to start opening up our minds about our world acclaimed constitution. The current situation is not about a free and fair election.

Even NASA leaders know inside their hearts that Uhuru Kenyatta won fair and square. The untold side of the story is that there are sections of this country who fear that they will be out of power in perpetuity and eternity if the current political architecture prevails in the long term. We must, of essence start addressing these fears. And the starting point has to start with a serious re-look at the 2010 constitution.

Interestingly it is ODM and Raila Odinga who were advocates of the current pure Presidential system. I was part of the PNU think tank in the constitutional re-writing process in 2009 and 2010. Any attempts to expand the leadership space at the top were frustrated by ODM through Miguna Miguna who kept branding an expanded top leadership space as a 'Mongrel'. Sadly, we will have to go back to this discussion after 7 years of lost opportunity. This is what will define our political-constitutional space over the next 5 years.

In 2 years time, we will also review our ward, constituency and county boundaries as by law required. I know there are some who would also want us to revisit the issue of whether we need a 2 tier system (National & County), or a 3 tier system of government (National, Regional and County).

But of utmost urgency and importance is that our constitution must not only be about a progressive Bill of Rights. That is nothing if it does not grant us a feeling of inclusivity. It will be a useless document if sections of this great nation feel that our constitution is a life sentence.

If we do not do that we will continue to expend humongous national energies managing each other than pursuing the ideals that good old Jomo and his 5 colleagues went to Kapenguria for. I commit myself to being part of this conversation after Thursday elections.

God bless Kenya. Happy Mashujaa Day people. You are all heroes."
