Speaking on Wednesday in Nyaribari Chache at the launch of Kisii Youth Forum Edition, the MP said that Jubilee lawmakers won’t block opposition’s plan to send IEBC home.

“Cord was part of the team that formed IEBC and if they think the commission is not credible to oversee the next polls then we will support them in disbanding it. But we insist that the correct channel should be used in airing their grievances,” Kuria said.

He also commended Cord for calling off their weekly demonstrations and expressing interest in holding talks with Jubilee to come to an amicable solution to the IEBC stalemate.

“I would like to congratulate Cord for making a turnabout and suspending the protests. We are ready to hold discussions with them so that we can iron out the pressing issues involving the IEBC,” stated Kuria.

Cord’s announcement to temporarily call off protests has received a major applause across political and religious rations.

Abraham Wamukekhe who is the leader of the Tongaren Friends Church also praised Cord for the move, urging Jubilee to adhere to the call for dialogue to resolve IEBC fracas.
