Kuria on Saturday posted a clip of Raila, in which the NASA leader hit out at Miguna noting that he should blame himself for his deportation woes.Raila argued that Miguna had refused to cooperate with the government, a move that has seen him denied entry into the country. The ODM Party leader said that among the issues he discussed with President Uhuru Kenyatta during the historic handshake at Harambee House was Miguna’s return to the country.

He, however, said that Miguna's stubbornness has impeded the process.

"I went to the airport and took Miguna's hand to take him away, the officers told me they have no problem and Miguna should only hand over his passport for stamping. He refused and said he doesn't have it," Raila said.

"Miguna Miguna has been the problem in the quest to have him return to Kenya. He is unnecessarily stubborn," he added.

Raila urged Miguna to follow the required procedures if he seeks to be allowed back to Kenya.

Kuria lauded Raila, terming the move as statesmanly and urged Miguna to follow the former Prime Minister’s advise.

"This is Statesmanly from Raila Odinga. The beginning of civilisation is adherence to rule of law and due process. Miguna Miguna listen to the wisdom of the sages," wrote Kuria on a Facebook post.

Raila’s remarks elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans on social media. Here are some of their views.

"Raila knows and adheres to the law. He produces his passport at the airport and gets it stamped and the president does so too and everyone else. Why did Miguna think he would be allowed into the country with an ID?" Kenbih Julio said.

"Miguna ni Kelele tu...serial noise maker. Blames everybody for his own mistakes. Miguna is overrated,” posted Phil Munda.

"Miguna ought to follow the law just like anyone else.... # handshake manenos!" Gedion Richu commented.

"True. Miguna should blame himself for his predicaments," Francis Gesego said.

"Very well Baba. Miguna needs to tone down and respect the rules," Kamau Muturi noted.

“How about the fact that if he had handed over his Canadian passport for stamping, he could have been accepted into the country as a tourist and not able to participate in Politics or economic activity? The court directed that Miguna be issued with a Kenyan passport. Rao is avoiding important facts. Handcheque stories,” posted Kibet Ronald Ruto.

“Clearly some money must have exchanged hands during the hand check oooh my bad handshake...if this is Agwambo speaking like this,” said Bryan Chege.

“Double standards... Raila does not walk the talk. He broke the law when Miguna swore him in as people's president. Both of them are lawless and politically thirsty,” wrote Kimani Captain Gathu.
