Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has pulled down a Facebook post that was sending a 'deadly' message to Kitui governor Charity Ngilu.
In his post, Kuria criticised the alleged involvement of Ngilu in the torching of vehicles that were transporting sand and charcoal from Kitui county.
"Whereas Governor Charity Ngilu may have a point on the issue of charcoal trade, asking the locals to take the law into their hands is illegal, unconstitutional and primitive. There must be mechanisms to enforce any national and county laws within the confines of law and order," reads Kuria's post.
"We need to abide by the law. In the meantime, I am asking all charcoal and sand traders to pass by my office and pick up a few machine guns before you travel to Kitui County," he added.
The controversial post.
Apparently, Ngilu allegedly ordered the burning of lorries that were ferrying charcoal from her county, a move that led to widespread demonstrations in Limuru.
