Outspoken Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said opposition chief Raila Odinga should not expect to get a good number of votes in Kiambu County in 2022.
Kuria who spoke during a tour of Kiambu with Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday said the best Raila can garner in votes in the county is one vote.
"Last year we had an election, in Kiambu County, we gave our beloved president 1.2 million votes," he said.
"By 2022, the votes that will be here will be around 1.5-1.6 million. I assure you (Ruto), we will give you 1.59 million votes and the remaining one vote we will give to the kitendawili guy (Raila)."
He made the remarks as he drummed up support for Ruto who he described as a true patriot who stood with Uhuru at a time everyone ran away from him.
Kuria said Ruto's leadership has been tested and nothing will stop him from ascending to State House after President Uhuru Kenyatta officially exits the presidency in 2022.
The remark, however, may trigger shivers within Jubilee since there are politicians within the party who say they may support Raila during the poll especially after his March meeting with Uhuru at Harambee House, Nairobi.
