Kuria speculated that the viral footage was leaked to the media after Ndambiri refused to give money to his 'captors' and lauded him for the 'bold' action.

"I always say it is nonsensical to pay anyone so as not to give a story to the media. That breeds extortion and encourages criminal networks to thrive," he said, in a Facebook post.

The legislator added: "If it were me I would simply have paid them off not with money but with the middle finger. These cartels are rampant especially in Kiambu county."

Kuria said the people who planned and executed the whole incident must be known to Ndambiri and urged him to report them to the police.

"It is a pity that the Kirinyaga DG did not immediately report such extortionists to the police. I still urge him to report to the police. It is the right thing to do," the second-time MP urged.

In a footage that went viral on social media on Tuesday, Ndambiri is seen seated while naked being confronted by men with a lady who they claim is somebody's wife.

The cornered politician admits in Kikuyu language of having had sex with the woman but defends his action saying he had no information that she was married.
