Gatundu South Moses Kuria has raised his voice, following the arrest of Nation reporter Walter Menya.
Menya allegedly solicited for a bribe to write a damaging story, but the police did not say from whom.
Kuria, a Jubilee MP, confirmed Menya's arrest, Sunday, saying he was a good person.
He however noted the reporter, though a good guy, was still part of the how bad Kenyan media was.
"Walter Menya, the senior Sunday Nation editor behind the Ksh 37,000 El Nino bar soap story has just been arrested for soliciting a bribe over a big fake story. Sad that he is otherwise a nice guy but still he is part of the rot that is #PrerogativeOfTheHarlot that defines Kenyan media," Kuria posted on Facebook, Sunday.
The reporter would be taken to Court, on Monday, according to a police statement signed by Spokesman George Kinoti.
Nation Media Group, through Clifford Machoka, Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, said the circumstances surrounding Menya’s arrest were unclear.
