Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has defended himself, after pressure from Kenyans that he explains circumstances under which he knew a vehicle belonging to a slaid IEBC officer was parked in Roysambu.
Kuria, who is not new to controversy, says he owes nobody an explanation over his Facebook post about IEBC official Chris Msando.
“I owe nobody any explanations. The media and social media are not part of the police and I refuse to be dragged into this political circus. It will be an exercise in futility... what will happen after explaining myself to you?” said Kuria when he spoke to the Standard Newspaper.
According to the post Kuria put up on his Facebook page, the slain officer was having a good time with a female in Roysambu, where his personal car was parked.
Msando’s lifeless body and that of a young female was found on Saturday morning in Kiambu forest, after disappearing the previous night.
His death, which comes a few days to the polls, has raised questions from all quarters, with Kenyans demanding to be told the truth.
President Kenyatta, while speaking in Eldoret on Monday said police officers should protect presidential candidates and other IEBC officials.
Msando’s death comes months after a similar death, when Jacob Juma was killed as he headed home.
