Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has responded to claims by the National Super Alliance (Nasa) that he has been coordinating Mungiki activities.

On Tuesday, ODM chairman John Mbadi in a press address linked the controversial lawmaker to the outlawed sect, saying he was mobilising the group's members to disrupt anti-IEBC demonstrations in Nairobi by Nasa.

Mbadi claimed that Kuria held a meeting with Mungiki members on Monday night to plan how to cause chaos during the Nasa demonstrations, and then blame it on opposition supporters.

However, in a response, the Jubilee Party MP denied the allegations by Nasa, saying he was in Nakuru leading the Mbele Iko Sawa lobby group.

Kuria chairs the lobby group which is campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We spent the whole of yesterday (Monday) campaigning in Nakuru before we retreated to a hotel in the evening. I have never associated with Mungiki,” said Kuria, as quoted by The Standard.

The vocal MP described Nasa’s allegations linking him to the outlawed sect as “utter fabrication”, adding that Mungiki does not exist.

Kuria accused Nasa of planning chaos and then blame it on other people.
