Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said the NASA opposition is preparing for a big fallout after their leader Raila Odinga failed to beat Jubilee's President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kuria said that the opposition leaders are currently in a succession battle that will end up splitting NASA into five different factions.
He said that Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi will have their group while the coast kingpins of Hassan Joho and Amaason Kingi will try to split from the main coalition and form a regional political party.
"The first faction will be led by Musalia and Wetangula. They will be seeking to inherit Raila's support base in Western and Luo Nyanza in readiness for 2022. The second faction will be led by James Orengo. He is positioning himself as the next Ker of the Luo Nation to take over from his agemate Raila Odinga," he said.
"The third faction will be led by the Hassan Joho-Amason Kingi axis. Their secession talk is because they cant lead an economic boycott in Coast lest they face the wrath of the Somali-Arab business interests in Mombasa and Malindi. They are preparing to jettison out of NASA and ODM and they have already registered a political party for this purpose," he added.
"The fourth faction will be led by Kalonzo Musyoka. In all likelihood, Kalonzo will come back home to Jubilee. He will leave NASA for the same reason he left Jubilee-frustrated ambitions and prospects of a better tomorrow politically. The last faction will be led by the Odinga family. They will be fighting tooth and nail to ensure that Baba remains on the ballot in 2022 if only to maintain his stranglehold of Luo Nyanza."
