Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has cautioned politicians against using the youth to settle their political goals.
Kuria condemned recent incident where Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was heckled by a group of youths during a function attended by Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking on Sunday, the MP asked leaders to solve their political differences in person instead of inciting the youth into violence and heckling other politicians.
"If you are going to use someone to heckle your rival, enroll him in the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), buy him a dairy cow and give him Sh20,000 first," he said.
"Young people should not agree to be used to shout down anybody," the MP added.
Kuria had accompanied the Deputy President to a fundraiser at St Peter Clavers Catholic Church in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.
Speaking at the same function, Ruto urged local leaders to settle their differences and focus on improving the welfare of the residents.
"As Jubilee, our core mandate is to unite the nation and deliver on the promises we made to Kenyans. We are done with politics. It is time to work," the DP remarked.
Waiguru has blamed her Friday's heckling on area Women Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici who in response has trashed the allegations.
