Gatundu South MP has disdained Peter Kenneth’s candidacy for the Nairobi Governor seat saying he has not fought for Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.
In a jibe thrown at Kenneth, Kuria said that nobody should think they will find it easy joining Jubilee for their convenience.
“Someone has never fought for Jubilee but they come and think they will have it easy…” he said in vernacular.
Saying that the politicians in Nairobi should join hands to campaign for the president, Kuria said that it is time for those seeking elective posts in Nairobi to sacrifice their ambitions and push for the president’s re-election.
Kuria, in a video shared online, said that Johnson Sakaja, Dennis Waweru, Kithure Kindiki and Mike Sonko should work together to make sure the president is re-elected.
“Just because Sakaja is darker than Peter Kenneth, is that why you won’t vote for him? Do you want Sonko to use sulphuric acid to be white so you can vote for him?
He said that those who have been in Jubilee are the president’s marshals and not those coming into the fold at the last minute.
This comes just a day after Kenneth announced his candidacy to unseat Evans Kidero. He has caught a lot of flak especially from several quarters of those in Jubilee who feel sidelined despite being loyal to the president.
The race for Nairobi governor is becoming crowded with many current and former politicians pushing to be elected.
