Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria wants Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu and his deputy James Nyoro to stop running to the media whenever they have issues.
Kuria says that the media does not have solutions to issues of governance that is only escalating animosity and misunderstandings.
Speaking to journalist’s on Monday, Kuria asked Waititu and his deputy to learn on how to address their issues under the carpet.
“The media is not the right place to go for advice or expose your issues,” he said on Monday when he attended a meeting that had been called to reconcile warring Kiambu politicians.
Kuria said that Kiambu people have confidence in Waititu and Nyoro’s leadership.
He said that Waititu is among Jubilee governors who won last year’s general election with a huge percentage.
“We should not allow small issues like this ones to cause rifts among us,” he added.
The vocal lawmaker asked Kiambu residents to support Waititu and Nyoro as they strive on development.
Waititu, Nyoro and women representative Wamuchomba agreed to bury their issues and work with other leaders on development.
The Monday meeting was convened by Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi.
The meeting held at a Nairobi hotel saw the politicians also pledged to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government development agenda.
Waititu and Nyoro had fallen out over leadership issues.
The deputy governor had accused Waititu of running the county government on a one-man show and sidelining the executive.
Nyoro had also claimed that working under Waititu had become torturers to him.
The Monday meeting is said to have been convened after Deputy President William Ruto’s warning to the leaders on Friday last week.
