Tea is known to do well in areas with high rainfall especially in the central region Gatundu South being one of them. This is just after Kenya Tea Development Agency KTDA issued them with fertilizers to apply on their tea farms.

Area MP Moses Kuria did not hesitate to give a word to area tea farmers on his Facebook page saying they should take advantage of the rains.

“God has remembered the people of Gatundu South and other tea oriented areas. We better get ready to get the best especially now that the rains have hit hard. Lets work and work to take advantage of the rains. #Tea in plenty, “he posted.

Gatundu South is among KTDA zones that received high tea bonuses last year.

KTDA has of late been faced with stiff competition from private companies making it improve service delivery to farmers and buyers as well.
