On Wednesday, while speaking at Mosocho market the residents said the attack on one of the traders on Monday night clearly showed that police are not doing their work as required.
“One of the traders was attacked and robbed his money but police have not arrested anyone in connection with the attack. Police officers are not patrolling and they should be transferred from the area because they are doing nothing but asking bribes from the people,” said Abel Machuka.
Machuka said the area MP Richard Onyonka must intervene before they demonstrate.
“We are calling on the area MP to push for the transfer of the lazy police officers who ding nothing to improve security. The trader will not continue losing their property and money they are earning through hard work to criminals as police watch,” he added.
Another resident identified as Kemunto said police officers don’t patrol at night as required.
“Police officers in the area are alcohol addicts who sleep on the roads instead of protecting the people. They should be moved from here before we take action,” she noted.
