Mosop MP Stephen Bitok has called on all aspirants for various posts in the constituency, to conduct peaceful campaigns in order to build a united society.

He said unity amongst the electorate is paramount, irrespective of their support for different aspirants.

"This is an electioneering period and it is important for aspirants to peacefully campaign," Bitok said.

According to him, the competition should be about ideas and transformative opinions.

"Let us compete on the basis of transformative agenda that will take us forward and not engaging in mudslinging our competitors. People need developments that will improve their lives and not retrogressive politics," he added.

He was speaking, Friday, when officially opening a new dormitory at Laborer Girls Secondary in Nandi County.

While saying that he will be seeking for a re-election owing to his impressive development record, Bitok lauded the school for proper utilisation of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

Apart from the dormitory and classrooms, the legislator is funding a construction of a laboratory which is nearing completion through the CDF kitty.

"I must commend the management for proper utilisation of the CDF funds. I am impressed by the standards of these buildings. My development record speaks for itself and I deserve another term," he added.
