Kisii county residents will access water in their homes for the county government has approved a budget of Sh2million for the construction of a water supply system at Mosora area.
According to Gucha sub county administrator, Albert Oisebe the county has already alerted the administrators and each sub county is set to receive the funds by the end of June.
He revealed that residents of Mosora had cut the supply of water to Ogembo town alleging that all the water from their main spring in that area had been channelled to residents in Ogembo town and they were left without an alternative source of water.
They insisted that no water would be supplied to Ogembo town until the government gave them an alternative source to fetch the commodity.
They thus kept on vandalizing the water supply system to Ogembo town that left its taps dry for over two months now.
Oisebe further said that the county government decided to arrest the problem and after rigorous discussions with relevant key leaders in the affected areas, they concluded that residents of Mosora will also be supplied with tap water at designated points so that they could stop vandalizing the pipes, they had vowed never to stop until they are supplied with water.
The sub county administrator assured that the decision of supplying both areas with water is sustainable and residents in the affected areas who have been buying water expensively from water vendors will now be relieved off that agony.
