Research firm Infotrak says majority of Kenyans have confidence and trust in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of August general election.
Infotrak, in its latest report, puts confidence levels in the electoral commission at 66.2 per cent, which is credited to the newly constituted IEBC leadership.
The survey also reveals that Kenyans trust the Supreme Court at 52.0 per cent, the media at 59.6 per cent and religious organisations at 64.2 per cent.
Political parties, the police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution are somewhat trusted at 50.3pc, 41.2pc and 38.5pc respectively.
Infotrak led by Angela Ambitho says Central and Eastern region resident believe the upcoming elections will be free and fair. Nairobi residents, however, are sceptical about the credibility of the elections.
According to the findings, 72.2 per cent of Kenyans believe that Wafula Chebukati and his team is well prepared for the elections.
