A lactating mother in Kihoto Naivasha has abandoned her new-born twin sons after tricking a businesswoman to look after them as she attended to a ‘small matter’.
The woman allegedly left and never came back leaving the businesswoman, Tabitha Ng’endo, to nurse the new-borns overnight before taking them to a nearby police station.
“She came and asked me whether there is a baby care around and I told her I did not know of any. The babies were crying, so she asked me whether she could come in and breastfeed them. After a while she excused herself and left never to come back, it was around noon,” said Ng’endo.
Following the incident, Lakeview MCA Simon Wanyoike and his nominated counterpart Njeri Mengere have asked the people who could be aware of the woman’s whereabouts to report to the authorities.
“If you know of a neighbour who had twins and now does not have, report her to the police. I am also asking the woman wherever she is, to find it within her heart to come and take her kids,” Wanyoike said.
“We are going to get these irresponsible women, name and shame them. All the kids that I have collected here are all from Kihoto,” said Njeri.
