Speaking on Wednesday at Kangundo Level Four Hospital, Robert Kilonzo who is the hospital administrator said that many mothers risk their health and their babies’ lives when they fail to attend early check-ups.

This comes after a young woman delivered triplets at the hospital yet she had only prepared for one.

“A lady has delivered triplets a few minutes ago. But the lady was not prepared as she expected one so the hospital has provided her with clothes. It is important to attend check-ups,” said Kilonzo.

He added: “All are in stable condition waiting to be released to go home. The benefits of attending prenatal care classes are that parents get updates on their health and the baby’s health as well.”

According to Kilonzo, during the prenatal classes if any complications are identified, early interventions are made to avoid risks to the mother and the unborn child.
