A woman in Mogotio village, Cherangany sub-county has been arrested for allegedly killing her year-old baby and dumping the body in a maize plantation.
Ms Julia Cheruto allegedly strangled the baby while her husband was away.
When the husband, Mr Charles Kiprotich, arrived in the evening found the child missing and raised alarm.
Julia was arrested as she made way to her parents' home in West Pokot, with the cause of her action alleged to be an earlier feud with the husband.
Uasin Gishu County Commander Lilian Okembo said that the suspect has since been arrested.
“We don’t know the motive of the killing but we will present her in court once investigations are complete,” she added.
