Among the patients who have died due to the ongoing countrywide doctor's strike is a mother to a Busia-based doctor after she failed to receive medical attention.
Doctor Godfrey Oyiolo's mother Nasubo Khayoko died on Tuesday a day after Kenya medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists' Union (KMPDU) announced their strike.
Khayoko's conditioned deteriorated after she was discharged from Port Victoria Hospital in Bunyala sub-county and finally passed on due to lack of treatment in public hospitals.
The death toll of those who have died during the three-day strike is currently at 14.
Meanwhile, health workers continue to roam the streets countrywide demanding that the government should honor their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) of 2013.
