There was drama at Scholars Haven hostel in Lolwe on Tuesday evening, after a mother and her daughter caused a stir at a private students’ hostel area.
The unidentified mother, and her husband made an impromptu visit to their daughter’s hostel only to be shocked with what they found.
Their 22-year old daughter, a medicine student at Uzima University College had overstayed in Kisumu with her boyfriend after her institution was closed.
According to the caretaker of the hostel, the student left her parents stranded outside her room after realizing they had visited without notifying her.
“She never opened the door. Her boyfriend was inside and the state of the house wasn’t pleasant. They have stayed there for six months now sharing the rental expenses. I had to tell her parents to avoid losing my job,” said the caretaker.
After a long struggle, the daughter opened her door. The parents found the boyfriend's items in her wardrobe.
She dismissed the claims but couldn’t explain the presence of the clothes.
