Motorists in Kisii town are happy with the decision for Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to reduce fuel costs in the whole country. According to Ken Mochoge a taxi driver in Kisii the fuel reduction will see thenm get higher profits compared to the previous ones.
“We are happy wth the deciaon and we hope the prices won’t go up more than the price it has been reduced to,it has been long since we saw the reduction of fuel prices with that margin” said Mochoge
He also added that It is time for the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum to accept that the ERC’s anti-free market economy practice of fuel price fixing is an orchestration of fraud and a clear injustice on hapless consumers because we want to see the prices go down more not rise again.
The new price cap released by the (ERC) yesterday will see for the first time in four years prices for super petrol quoted below the Sh100 mark. In Kisii town today Motorists are able to buy petrol at Sh89.50 per litre following a reduction in the maximum pump prices by 8 per cent as fuel prices continue to adjust marginally to the falling international crude prices.
