A 28-year-old boda boda motorist was on March 14, 2016 killed in a road accident in Kalumoni area, Machakos county.
Confirming the incident, Machakos Area police base Commander Rashid Ali said that the man lost his life after he crashed into the lorry."A motorist has lost his life instantly after he crashed into a lorry coming from the opposite direction," said Ali.
The police boss, however, stated that according to the scene situation the motorist was trying to overtake the vehicle in front when he collided head on with the lorry.
Ali has further urged motorists to be cautious while using the highway to avoid accidents and loss of lives.
"The boda-boda operators and vehicles use the same road and it's very crucial that both observe traffic rules and are careful so that avoidable accidents are reduced," he added.
The police officers from Machakos police station took the body of the motorist to Machakos level-5 hospital mortuary.
Further investigation into the actual course of the accident was launched after the lorry and the motorcycle were towed away to Machakos police station.
