The motorists speaking at Nyamira junction on Sunday morning threatened to protest if the officers will not stop frustrating them on the roads.
Led by Clinton Kerenge, the motorists said their matatu business has been negatively affected.
“The officers daily are demanding bribes from us at road blocks so that they can allow us pass. This is unacceptable and we are calling on Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to come into our rescue because at times we are forced to stop passengers at undesignated areas,” he said.
Charles Miruka, a taxi driver said the officers should be satisfied with their monthly salaries and stop harassing road users.
“If the officers are not satisfied with the monthly salaries they are being paid they should resign and join the matatu business. We will soon protest if the officers will not stop the illegal habits,” he said.
