"We're extremely lucky that the truck zoomed right past us and only hit the sides of the cars," said Bernard Spoerry, one of the drivers of the hit vehicles.

Luckily, no person was injured in the Friday evening incident.

"If the truck had hit us from the back, we would all have been in a very bad shape," he adds.

Spoerry blames the incident on the failure by drivers to ensure vehicles undergo complete check-ups and servicing before embarking on long journey's.

"It's crazy irresponsible that they allow vehicles in such a condition to drive on the road. Accidents like these must happen every day on this hill."
