The incident happened in Nyaribari Masaba Sub-county and according to Kiragu, the deceased might have been murdered elsewhere and his remains dumped at the Division’s Headquarters, to send a warning signal against the provincial administration.

“The remains of the deceased were found a few meters from the DO’s office. Taking the remains to the DO’s office is a clear signal that some people are not wanted in the area,” Kiragu said.

He added, “We are investigating and the culprit will be apprehended once they are found.”

The incident took place over the weekend and the commander said the unwanted officers would be transferred.

“The OCS and some police officers will be transferred upon public demand. They are accused of corruption and misconduct respectively,” he confirmed.

On the other hand, Kiragu said administrative action would be taken against the area assistant chief, whom residents have accused of collaborating with criminals for his own benefit.

They have threatened to take law into their hands against the administrative officer, if he will not be sacked and charged in court of law.

Mid this week, area MP Elijah Moindi and MCAs convened a baraza at Kiamokama that was attended by more than 200 residents to deliberate on the way forward. The meeting resolved that the officers to be transferred with immediate effect.
