Motorists from Rongai constituency in Nakuru County demonstrated along the Rongai-Chepsir road on Thursday over poor state of the road and lack of public toilet at Kambi Moto trading centre.
Traders from Kambi Moto joined the motorists and paralysed businesses activities along the busy road for the better part of the day.
They accused the county government for paying little attention to the road.
“We have notified the county government on the issue of the state of the road but it has done nothing,” said David Kipsang, a boda boda operator.
“We are incurring heavy losses due to the poor state of the road,” said Moses Tanui, a Rongai motorcyclist.
The traders said that the road may derail their businesses activities.
The residents urged the county government to repair poor roads in Rongai to make the region contribute to the development of the county.
The traders and the motorists gave the county government 14 days to look at their grievances or they sue it to court.
However, the county’s roads executive Maina Kairu said that they would repair the road although the road is under national government .
