Motorists plying the newly constructed Muhoroni-Koru-Kipkelion road have been warned to be wary of the sharp corners. Nyanza regional traffic coordinator Joshua Omukata said several accidents have been reported on that road in the recent past. Omukata said in December last year alone, six fatal accidents were reported and appealed to motorists to exercise caution while travelling along that road. “That road is a death trap and motorists should be warned to remain vigilant while travelling along that road,” he said. He said the road is a short cut to Nakuru and many motorists now prefer using it without understanding its condition. Speaking in Kisumu, Omukata said the road passed through some valleys, some parts not completed and a number of corners that are dangerous to speeding motorists. He said the road should be used in a proper and very careful way to avoid losing innocent lives through careless driving. “Motorists should be acquainted with how that road runs through lest they plunge into their deaths,” he said. Omukata noted that the road is smooth and that alone promotes careless driving, thus leading to the high number of accidents that have been reported.
