Mr Midiwo has of recent become Mr Rasanga's greatest critic.

Midiwo has on several occasions accused the governor of mismanaging the county affairs.

However, Midiwo has vowed to ensure that the governor loses his seat in the 2017 elections as he is going to name his preferred candidate for the county's top seat in December.

According to Midiwo, the Rasanga has poor leadership skills.

On Saturday at a funeral in the county Rasanga hit out at his opponents saying he will not be cowed by their noise.

"Some leaders in Siaya have consistently been alleging that I am stealing from the county coffers yet they have never presented evidence to the concerned authorities," Rasanga was quoted by the Star as saying.

Rasanga's comments irked Midiwo who said that that was enough to tell that the governor has failed.

"It is for that reason that I am thinking of backing a candidate to unseat Rasanga in the next general election," Midiwo said.

"As a leader, I cannot entertain someone we entitled with managing county resources and billions, yet who stoops so low to abuse MCAs and MPs.

So far, Senator James Orengo and Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo have declared their interest in the seat.
