A section of Mount Kenya youths belonging to a group calling itself the Mount Kenya Youth Alliance has called on the government not to allow the police to terrorise NASA supporters should opposition leader Raila Odinga insist on being sworn in.
''We are asking the government not to deploy police to go to engage in running battles with NASA supporters. Raila should swear himself in and go home. We know Raila wants an exit strategy and we are giving it to him. After being sworn in, he should go home,'' Moses Mwenda, the group's chairman said.
The group also urged Kenyan youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to shed blood.
They spoke in Nairobi today ahead of the much-hyped Raila Odinga swearing-in scheduled for Tuesday, January 30.
According to them, confrontation would only result in unnecessary bloodshed.
