Deputy speaker of Machakos County Assembly Nathaniel Nganga has termed the attempt to remove him from office as a fight back against the Ward Developments Funds distribution.
Speaking on Tuesday after the court gave a temporary order to keep his seat, Nganga stated the move to scrap his seat was unlawful and malicious.
"We went to court on April 14 and were issued a date to appear in court which was on April 18 and the court has stopped any elections or nominations of any other person to the seat or removal of the Deputy speaker's seat," said Nganga.
The Ikombe MCA has further termed the attempt to remove him from office as unlawful and against the constitution.
"The motion was introduced to the house while I was doing my exams in Nairobi and were in bad faith by the nominated honorable members who are paid by funds from Machakos county residents," he added.
Nganga has made it clear that his intention to have Sh800 million distributed to all wards is what is causing wrangles.
"I am being fought because i opposed the plan grab Sh800 million for the Ward Development Fund. I declared that all the Wards must get Sh20 million for development, " he added.
There are only 2 months remaining for the 2015/2016 budget year remaining but WDF have not been realised.
Nganga has called upon the Machakos County governor Dr Alfred Mutua to facilitate distribution of the funds to the grassroots levels for projects to kickoff.
The scraping motion of the Deputy Speaker seat was introduced in Parliament by nominated MCA Veronicah Mbithe.
The case will be heard again on June 14, 2016 in Machakos court.
