The group, dubbed Coast Jubilee Movement (CJM) will be tasked with drumming support for the party, in the region that has for a long time been considered the opposition stronghold.

Speaking at Star of the Sea Hall during the launch of the movement, Kinango MP Gonzi Rai said the group seeks to woo residents to vote for Jubilee in the 2017 polls.

“Our main target is the youth who have been brainwashed and instigated against the government by the opposition,” said Rai, as quoted by Mediamax.

The MP criticised the Cord coalition for allegedly spreading propaganda about the party, adding that Jubilee's development record in the region is exemplary.

The group's chairperson Amina Abdalla urged residents in the area to vote for Jubilee in 2017, saying it needs another term to complete its projects.
