Jubilee nominated MP Jennifer Shamalla has alleged that former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Roselyne Akombe is a mole working for a particular person in the country.

According to Shamalla, Akombe's resignation was not genuine and her reasons for quitting the electoral body were not backed by any evidence.

Shamalla further faulted Akombe for resigning 7 days to the repeat presidential election and in her view, Akombe's resignation is a proof that she is a mole to someone whose identity will be revealed in the course of time.

"Dr Roselyne Akombe is a mole. I don't know for who but that will be revealed in the course of time. I don't see why she had to resign 7 days and giving reasons why without providing evidence to back he allegations," reiterated Shamalla.

Shamalla further pointed out that future appointees to independent bodies like IEBC should not have dual citizenship like Akombe did.

She believes Akombe should have raised her concerns while in the country where all her concerns would have been addressed.

"In the future, appointees to independent bodies should not have dual citizenship. This will help avert divided loyalty just as Akombe did by airing her concerns while in a foreign country. She should have just raised her concerns while in the country and they would have been looked into," added Shamballa.

She made her remarks on Wednesday during Sidebar show on NTV.
