Lamu East MP Shariff Athman has claimed that Coast politicians who are affiliated to ODM are only concerned with their personal interests.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Athman claimed that ODM MPs from the region only seek to fulfill their selfish agenda.

"There is no unity among the Coast MPs because some have personal interests," he said.

The MP urged residents to support the Jubilee administration, arguing that it has addressed a series of problems facing the region.

He further congratulated ODM MPS who defected to Jubilee, saying it was the right move.

Athman was elected in 2013 on a UDF ticket and is expected to defend his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket in the 2017 polls.
