Gathogo claimed that the Opposition's aim is to achieve a political milestone and not to help solve the problems facing the country as they say.

Gathogo, who was speaking in Ruiru on Tuesday during the issuance of Uwezo Fund cheques to various youth and women groups, said that any dialogue should be through the constitutionally laid institutions.

"National dialogue is good, but it should be done within the recognised constitutional framework,” said Gathogo.

The Member of Parliament noted that Parliament as the representative of people should be used as a medium for dialogue on matters Cord coalition has been raising.

She also warned the opposition against using social gatherings to attack the President and the government.

"They are calling for national dialogue and when they go to events they use them to abuse the same President they want to initiate dialogue. That is playing double standard,” said Gathogo.

Last week at the Fidel Odinga’s burial, leaders from the opposition had called on President Uhuru to have a national dialogue with them claiming that that is the only way to solve challenges facing the country.
