Addressing residents at Likoni Caltex ground on Thursday, Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima said that instead of looking for ways to develop the county, the county boss has turned into a tourist who is rarely in office.

“Any leader should always be available to his subjects. A leader who is rarely in office does not deserve to be called one because he has no time for the people who elected him into office. He seems to be absconding his duties,” said Mwahima.

He also took a swipe at Joho’s overseas trip claiming that it cost the people of Mombasa millions of shillings, yet it didn’t have any positive returns.

“Is he the only governor who knows how to travel? How come we don’t witness such from other governors?” asked Mwahima.

Joho recently accompanied Raila to a burial ceremony of three Cord supporters who died during the anti-IEBC protests before heading to Garissa for a political rally.

The governor on Thursday accompanied the Cord principals to Pangani and Muthaiga police stations in Nairobi to demand the release of Cord leaders who had been arrested over hate speech.
