Speaking on Debe La Citizen on Radio Citizen on Sunday, the opposition lawmaker noted that the government is misleading Kenyans on its stand on the heated 2022 presidential race debate, arguing that both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto and their lieutenants are giving varying information.

This follows the President's recent call on Kenyans and fellow politicians to quit engaging in the premature debate, sentiments that were echoed by Ruto.

However, a section of Jubilee leaders is still engaging in the debate, terming Kenyatta's union with opposition leader Raila Odinga as a plan to sabotage Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

''Kenyans are yet to understand Jubilee's actual stand because on one hand they are against the growing 2022 presidential race debate while they are propagating the same on the other hand. They should take a solid stand on the issue to avoid sending mixed signals to Kenyans,'' he said.

On the rising suspicions regarding the Uhuru-Odinga reconciliation, the lawmaker called for calm, noting that the nation should wait for official communication from the duo before chatting the way forward.

''We should not be too anxious about their plans because we know very little about their deal. Kenyans, especially politicians, should, therefore, calm down and give them time after which they will disclose the content of their unity,'' he added.
