The government of Kenya has been urged to expedite road projects in Kitutu Masaba constituency that have been going on for the last three years.
Speaking at Magombo area on Sunday when he toured the ongoing construction of Kemera-Magombo road, area MP Timothy Bosire said the road projects were being slowed down deliberately to put him at war with the electorate.
He said the government had failed to expedite construction of Metamaywa-Kebirigo road despite the MPs having factored money in the previous budgets, something he said could be political due to his affiliation with the opposition.
“The road projects in my constituency are very slow and I really wonder what could be the problem. The National Assembly had put everything in the budget yet I cannot understand why contractors are doing then work slowly. I think I am being targeted by the government due to my loyalty to Cord,” he said.
The ODM treasurer said he would yet again challenge the Ministry of Roads to stop the perceived discrimination or lead the people of his constituency to demonstrations that will propel the government work for its people without prejudices.
“I will never tire to fight discrimination and the Ministry of Roads should be ready for me. I will lead my constituents to a big demonstration to question the delayed services,” he said.
This comes a time when the legislator is facing immense criticism from his competitors over the poor state of road networks in the region ahead of 2017 elections.
