Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe has linked the Saturday fracas where Deputy President William Ruto's motorcade was momentarily blocked from entering Bungoma's Mumias Town to opposition alliance NASA supporters.

In a telephone interview with The Star Newspaper on Monday, the lawmaker condemned the incident, urging opposition supporters to maintain peace during political rallies.

He further challenged the opposition to sell its agenda to Kenyans, instead of disrupting Jubilee Party's political activities.

“Let them campaign on the platform of ideologies and tell Kenyans why they want to be given power, instead of trying to force residents to back them,” he noted.

Wangwe, who decamped to the ruling Jubilee Party alongside a host of other Western region legislators maintained that he was firmly in the party, despite missing the outfit's activities in the region over the weekend.

The activities were presided over by Deputy President William Ruto.

He urged the residents to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid during the forthcoming general elections.
