Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has admitted seeking ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s audience last month before his unprecedented reunion with the Orange party.
Onyonka has been a staunch critic of ODM party in recent years, before last week’s unexpected return to the party during the National Governing Council.
Media reports indicated that he was denied entry to Capitol Hill where Odinga works from, though he vehemently declined to comment on the allegations.
“It’s true I wanted to have a word with him (Odinga) but he was a bit busy then. I don’t think he had an intention of denying me access because a part from being my boss, he is a close family friend to me,” said Onyonka in an interview.
“It’s only that the media exaggerated it. I wanted to share with him a number of issues that I thought needed quick attention from his desk and I am happy that we later met and discussed the issues,” added Onyonka.
The controversial MP fell out with Jubilee government years after supporting the regime, citing unfulfilled promises as the reasons behind his decision.
