Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i has called upon security agencies to ensure that they arrest and prosecute all suspects involved in dorm arson.
Speaking on Monday morning at Gekomu Primary school in Kisii Central ward, the legislator said the fire tragedies in the county were alarming and both parents and children were on the losing end.
“When we see a fire in all schools in Kisii county it paints a bad image of the education sector in Kisii county and I would like all education stakeholders to ensure they carry our proper investigation and arrest all those involved,” he added.
The legislator called upon parents and Board of Directors to help police with every detail that would help them land those involved in the fire incidents in the local schools.
He also called upon the education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to come up with a policy that will ensure that sanity is brought back in schools in Kisii region to ensure the fire incidents are a forgotten story.
This comes after schools in Kisii county have been in the spotlight over the various fire incidents that have caused panic in the education sector in the region.
The latest incident includes the torching of Itierio Girls and Boys.
